KATIE VAN BRUNT is a queer American romance author and scriptwriter. Her debut romantic comedy FOR THE PLOT earned a 2025 Sultry Listeners Award for Best Romantic Comedy. She writes steamy rom-com stories with banter, lots of texts on page, and mental health representation. She’s a total mood reader, has a love-hate relationship with the gym, and is working on being more spontaneous.

She is a military spouse and currently lives in O’ahu, Hawai’i with her husband (aka Dr. Book Daddy) and three amazingly weird kids (including a teenager!), but has lived in Greece, California, Virginia, North Carolina, and Florida (where she is originally from). Interesting Facts About Me (that are not in third person)

I’m afraid of birds and went to hypnotherapy at nineteen. It helped by about 85%! 

My body was used as the mold for both Britney Spears and Madonna for their wax figurines that are on display at Ripley’s Believe It or Not! in Niagara Falls. 

I can read and write in Hebrew and Greek, and stumble my way through very basic conversation.

I have zero chill factor when meeting celebrities in person and once stood outside the green room bathroom to have my picture taken with the male dancers from Dancing With the Stars. (I swear I’m not a stalker!)
